Choose one useful message
Start with what a shopper needs to know: a promotion, a deadline, or a temporary closure. Keep the wording short enough to read on a phone, and use a clear action when there is a next step.
A linked button should go to the relevant product, collection, or page. Open that destination before publishing. If you show several rotating messages, check the whole sequence rather than just the first message in the editor.
Match the audience and the schedule
Check where the bar will appear and who should see it. A country-specific message should use the appropriate country audience. A message for one collection should not create confusion on unrelated pages.
Confirm your store’s time zone before setting a start or end time. Use a countdown only when there is a real end time. Preview the bar before, during, and after the scheduled period, including what happens when the countdown ends.
Check the storefront and the closure behavior
Enable the app embed or add the header block, save the theme, and view the store on desktop and mobile. Check that the bar does not cover navigation or purchase actions and that the button or copyable code works.
A closure notice and a checkout block serve different purposes. Vacation mode can keep your catalog browsable while checkout is stopped. Configure that behavior separately and verify it before relying on it for a holiday or planned closure.
